Charlotte-Gastonia-Rock Hill, NC-SC (1888PressRelease)- RacersReunion Memory Lane Hall of Fame will induct fifteen in its inaugural class on October 10, 2009. This new hall of fame is located inside the fabulous antique race car and memorabilia exhibit that is Memory Lane Museum on Highway 150 in Mooresville, NC. The first class of ten living and five posthumous inductees, all participants in the early years of auto racing, made their impact on the sport before the days of multi-million dollar sponsors, luxurious motor coaches, personal airplanes, and teams the size of factories.

The ten living and five posthumous inductees are: Paul Goldsmith, Buddy Arrington, Dink Widenhouse, Sam Ard, Marvin Panch, Dave Marcis, Paul Lewis, Neil Castles, Jake Elder, James Hylton, Wendell Scott, Herman Beam, G.C. Spencer, Elmo Langley, and Gene Glover. All living inductees will be in attendance except for Sam Ard, Jake Elder, and James Hylton. Ard and Elder are in poor health and unable to attend, but the seventy-five-year-old Hylton’s absence is due to his refusal to yield to age as he continues his racing career and will be qualifying for the American 200 ARCA Championship event at Rockingham Speedway.
